Description
This model will contain a bi-allelic deletion within the Foxn1 gene, encoding for the Forkhead box protein n1, which is a transcription factor involved in generation of T lymphocytes.
Additional Information
T cells are critical components for an adaptive immune system. Rats deficient in Foxn1 protein produce no mature T cells and are also athymic nude, making them useful for xenografts and allografts.
